Legal

Terms Of Use

Overview

These terms of use govern access to and use of Lead Inspector Insights, including account access, workspaces, report packs, billing, and related services. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms.

If you use the service on behalf of a school, trust, consultancy, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

The Service

What Lead Inspector Insights provides

Lead Inspector Insights is a subscription-based service for school leaders, trust teams, and similar professional users. It provides inspector search, published-report coverage checks, and AI-generated report packs built from published inspection materials.

The service is designed to support inspection preparation and internal briefing. It is not a replacement for reviewing the underlying source reports, taking professional advice, or exercising professional judgment.

Accounts And Workspaces

Your responsibilities

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the activity results from our fault.

Workspaces are intended to organise report packs, billing, and usage for a particular school, trust, client, or team. Workspace owners and admins are responsible for controlling membership and access within that workspace.

We may apply reasonable product limits, including limits on workspace numbers, user roles, naming, and access controls, where needed to operate the service safely and reliably.

Report Packs

Use of report packs and source materials

Report packs are generated from published inspection materials and related service logic. They are provided as a briefing aid only. You remain responsible for checking the underlying source material and deciding how to use any generated output.

You must not present a report pack as an official Ofsted or Department for Education document, and you must not use the service in a misleading, unlawful, defamatory, or harmful way.

Public inspector search and coverage checking may be available without payment, but creation or opening of paid report pack outputs may require an eligible account, workspace, subscription, and available credits.

Plans And Billing

Subscriptions, credits, and payment

Paid features are supplied on the basis of the plan and billing information shown in the service at the point of purchase. Plans may include a monthly allowance of report pack credits and may also allow additional paid usage.

Billing is workspace-specific. Subscriptions, invoices, credits, and report pack usage belong to the workspace that purchased them.

Where Stripe or another payment processor is used, payments and related billing actions are also subject to that provider’s terms and processes. We do not store full payment card details in the application.

If payment fails, a subscription becomes overdue, or credits are exhausted, we may suspend or limit access to paid ordering features until the billing issue is resolved.

Cancellation

How cancellation works

Unless a plan says otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. If you cancel, the cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise in the service or payment flow.

Charges already paid for the current billing period are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we state otherwise in writing.

Acceptable Use

Things you must not do

  • use the service for unlawful purposes or in a way that infringes the rights of others;
  • attempt to disrupt, damage, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the site, its infrastructure, or another user’s account or workspace;
  • copy, scrape, bulk-download, or re-publish the service in a way that is not reasonably contemplated by normal product use;
  • use report packs or search results to create misleading public statements about individuals or inspection outcomes;
  • upload or submit material that you do not have the right to use.

Intellectual Property

Ownership and permitted use

We own or license the rights in the site, its software, product design, and the parts of the service that are original to us. Published inspection reports and other third-party source materials remain subject to their own ownership and rights position.

Subject to these terms and any paid subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your internal professional purposes.

Availability And Changes

Service updates

We may update, improve, suspend, or remove features where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, technical change, supplier change, or product improvement.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, third-party service failures, or events outside our reasonable control.

Disclaimers

Important limitations

The service uses published source material and automated analysis to generate report packs. While we aim for a reliable and useful service, we do not guarantee that every search result, coverage decision, or generated output will be complete, accurate, or suitable for every use case.

You should not rely on the service alone for legal, regulatory, safeguarding, inspection, employment, or other high-stakes decisions.

Liability

Limits on liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss arising from your reliance on generated report pack content without checking the source material.

Where the law allows, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount paid for the relevant workspace subscription during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Termination And Suspension

When access may be limited

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, misuse the service, fail to pay charges when due, create security risk, or use the service in a way that exposes us or others to legal or operational harm.

Where appropriate, we will normally try to give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue first.

General

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law says otherwise.
